The Bogalusa City School System is now accepting applications for the position of Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction. Minimum qualifications include a valid type A teaching certificate, as well as five (5) years of successful professional school experience, three (3) of which must have been during the five (5) year period immediately preceding appointment to the supervisory position. A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution including twelve (12) semester hours of professional education at the graduate level, nine (9) hours of which shall include courses in supervision, curriculum and instruction and three (3) hours in school administration. Qualified applicants will also have knowledge of curriculum and instruction levels K-12, with an emphasis on grades 6-12. This position will also require knowledge of Carl Perkins, Louisiana High School Redesign, Options Program, Dual Enrollment Activities, GLE’s and Comprehensive Curriculum. Applicants must also meet any other minimum requirements as stated in LDE Bulletin 746.

The Bogalusa City School System is now accepting applications for the position(s) of Secondary Math Teachers at Bogalusa City High School for the 2008-2009 school year. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, valid teaching certificate in the certification area of Secondary Mathematics (6-12). Applicants must also meet any additional minimum requirements as stated in LDE Bulletin 746.
The Bogalusa City School System is currently the 9th highest paying district in Louisiana. As an incentive to attract qualified applicants, the Bogalusa City School Board has authorized newly recruited/hired Secondary Math Teachers to receive an extra paycheck equal to one (1) month’s pay at the teacher’s regular wages. In addition to this incentive, all employees of the Bogalusa City School Board receive three (3) additional pay checks throughout the school year: 1) Sales Tax Excess check in November, 2) Ad Valorem Millage check in March, and 3) Sales Tax Excess check in May.
